The field of manufacturing
involves the processes and equipment integral to
the production of an item or product. The
Manufacturing Process Engineers work within the
parameters of manufacturing processes, equipment
General Duties: Manufacturing process engineers
work with all the elements involved in producing
a particular product. This involves overseeing
the efficiency and safety of current
manufacturing processes, as well as developing
new processes to improve manufacturing
efficiency, monitor and improve product quality,
and decrease/manage product cost.
Job Environment: A manufacturing process engineer
works in fast-paced environments that demand a
passion for his work, attention to detail and
ability to produce results. He must interact with
production operators and assemblers, engineers to
and meet strict deadlines. He or she must also
read and produce technical reports and diagrams
of manufacturing processes.
Education Required: A Bachelor of Science degree
in a field of engineering, such as electrical,
industrial, or mechanical engineering or
Minimum 3 years of manufacturing engineering
experience with electronic equipment.
Emphasis on instrumentation manufacturing,
testing and troubleshooting preferred.
Minimum 3 years of ATE code design and
implementation test, Graphical User Interfaces,
and communications processing.
Working knowledge of Lab View, C, C++, Visual
C++, Visual Basic, and the Windows family of
operation systems, Solidworks, and applications
Experience with outsourcing of manufacturing
using high-speed automated pick & place
equipment, re-flow ovens, surface mount rework
Working knowledge of digital hardware.
